Cox Discusses Plan to Eliminate Granholm-Cherry Income Tax Hike

Granholm’s Record, Renewed Calls for Massive Tax Hikes Sends Terrifying Signal to Prospective Job Makers, Investors

LIVONIA, MI— Mike Cox today discussed his plan to repeal the Granholm-Cherry income tax hike of 2007 in a new “Reform of the Day” web video at MikeCox2010.com.

“Michigan families know how to spend their money better than Jennifer Granholm and state government does,” said Cox.  “As governor I will roll back the 2007 Granholm-Cherry income tax hike, providing a home-grown stimulus to workers and entrepreneurs so they can keep more of their own money, provide for their families and invest in Michigan’s economy.

“Governor Granholm has been sending a terrifying signal to prospective job makers and investors, making the rounds on national television to call for another massive tax hike.  Instead, we need to roll back her tax hikes and send a message to the rest of the nation that Michigan is prepared to join the 21st century, prepared to lessen the burdens of over-taxation and over-regulation and prepared to get government off the backs of taxpayers.”

The “Reform of the Day” web segment regularly highlights individual reforms from Cox’s 92 point plan to put Michigan back to work.

Yesterday Cox discussed his plan to cut the Michigan Business Tax- the “Jobs Tax”- in half, then eliminate it and responded to Governor Granholm’s nationally televised calls for higher taxes, telling the Governor there are better ways to fund education than by killing Michigan jobs.
